What’s in a name?
Our organization’s name, Team Acuity, conveys and reminds us of our purpose in working with leaders, teams and organizations. The first word is pretty obvious. Starting with Team is to remind us of the importance of the whole and “we” instead of “me.” We have all heard such sayings as, “People are a company’s most valuable asset” or “There is no I in Team”. An organization is only as strong as the people in the organization and their ability to work together towards a common goal…the basis for every team whether in sports or business. Team Acuity’s purpose is to help organizations recognize and realize the potential of the team and to find ways to improve the culture and productivity of that team, whether through executive leadership coaching, business management consulting, or providing legal counsel.
Acuity is a less common word, but one that carries just as much meaning. Webster defines acuity as “sharpness of vision, hearing or thought.” These are critical skills in any organization as success often depends on the team’s ability to have a clear picture of their goal, to understand the importance of listening as much as talking, and to possess the ability to problem solve with creative and detailed thinking. Team Acuity helps leaders work on their individual acuity, but more importantly the team’s collective acuity through our coaching and consulting services. Typically as team acuity improves, so does the chance for success and happiness. This is the purpose of Team Acuity.
